Beautiful Resort, but Unit 409 Needs Maintenance and Updates
My wife and I discovered TOPS’L Beach Resort while searching for a family beach vacation, and we were immediately impressed by the privacy, beautifully maintained grounds, and convenient access to the beach and amenities. We stayed in Unit 409 at The Tides, one of the condominium towers located just off the beach. The location was excellent, with easy access to the pool and beach, as well as the fitness center approximately a quarter-mile away. Both my wife and I took advantage of the fitness center and sauna every morning during our stay. Unfortunately, the unit itself had several issues. The refrigerator’s French-door design conflicts with the adjacent countertop, preventing the freezer door from opening fully. This made the freezer largely unusable except for very small items. Because we prefer to stock our vacation rentals with groceries, this significantly limited our meal options during the week. The dishwasher was also unsecured beneath the counter and tipped forward whenever the door was opened. I pushed it back into place, which helped, but we still had to use it carefully throughout our stay. The bedding in the primary bedroom had noticeable dark stains near the pillows. The stains appeared old, which made us question why the bedding was still being used. Most concerning was the bunk-bed ladder, which had a very loose hook connecting it to the upper bunk. Our children did not feel safe using it and slept on the couches for the final few nights of our stay. The televisions were also outdated and did not offer access to common streaming apps such as Netflix. While this was not as serious as the maintenance and safety concerns, updated smart TVs are a reasonable expectation for a vacation rental at this price point. Overall, we enjoyed TOPS’L Beach Resort and would consider returning. However, Unit 409 needs meaningful maintenance and upgrades. Given the price we paid, we expected a cleaner, safer, and more functional rental. We would return to the resort, but we would not rent this particular unit again.

BEAUTIFUL, SPACIOUS PERFECT CONDO. We had a wonderful stay, and we were so very grateful for our stay here. It truly felt like a home away from home. The only bad thing i could even say was the bed in the master bedroom has been worn out by everyone staying in this beautiful condo, and it needs tk be updated. We enjoyed the beach and how beautiful it was, and enjoyed it more off season.
